TRAINING

Throughout his career, Ben Albright consistently demonstrates his ability to connect with the horse and maximize its potential. He develops trusting relationships with his horses and allows the horse’s natural way of going and thinking to dictate the path of training. His sensitive methods produce horses that are happy, healthy and willing to perform and win at the highest levels.

Ben’s clear, classical training methods and dedication to establishing basic groundwork has yielded a proven history of training and rehabilitating young or difficult horses into champions. His ability to identify world-class prospects and develop them to the peak of their ability provides a firm foundation for his future competitive success.

Ben is committed to the quality development of the dressage horse through the levels, from giving a young horse a good foundation up to producing the polished Grand Prix. He believes that each horse is an individual and will have a unique career path. He considers the physical strengths and weaknesses of each horse along with their emotional development. Under the training direction of Ben, the training program is based upon classical dressage principles that develop the athletic ability of the horse while maintaining a sound horse in body and mind.

Ben is an asset to the Dressage industry. He is interested in the vision for U. S. Dressage in the future. He has a reputation for being good and kind to both people and horses. He is well-spoken and has a wonderful sense of humor. Ben’s greatest strength is his overall attitude. He truly loves horses, and that quality is reflected in his passion to always learn more and to “do the right thing” by the horse and rider. To Ben, the welfare of the horse is utmost in his philosophy of training and to sustain the horses strengths and confidence. To him, horses are elite athletes who deserve the same psychological treatment and patience that a child deserves. ~ Kathy Connelly - world-renowned dressage rider, trainer, coach, clinician, commentator, author, USEF “S” Judge.

During the 2022 Winter season in Wellington, Florida, we worked together almost daily, and I observed his exceptional attention to detail and deep concern for the well-being of the horses that were in his program and care.

Ben and I have collaborated on training horses of all levels and ages. His years of experience with young horses and his talent, combined with his innate ability to build their confidence, make him a remarkable trainer .
